Loss Prevention Officers (LPO's) can provide you with the anti-theft protection needed at your retail facility. Our LPO's dress in casual wear, and pose as shoppers. While doing this, they will determine potential shop-lifters, and conduct surveillance on these individuals, while still being discreet, and undetected. If the individual decides to take an item, and not pay for it, the LPO will stop the individual, and detain them until the local authorites arrive. In accordance with Michigan state law, the suspect will be charged with criminal retail fraud, and will be arrested. The client also has the right to add on civil charges, which is a dollar amount that the suspect is also responsible for. This usually is the retail price of the item stolen, times ten. This amount is no less than $40.00 and no higher than $100.00.
